Levi + Alex | Selma, Alabama Wedding

I was honored to photograph Levi and Alex’s wedding here in Selma, Alabama for two reasons:

  1. Their family has done so much for our church so it was a blessing to serve them.

  2. Cathedral of Christ the King in Selma, Alabama is my home church and where Luke and I got married.

Now, let me shoot you straight, Charismatic Episcopal Church weddings are notorious for being lengthy but I’m not complaining because I think the liturgy and the worship is beautiful. (If you’re looking for a liturgical church that’s charismatic in nature come stop by for our Eucharist services every day at noon!) I’ve photographed both modern and traditional weddings and I must say, there’s a classic beauty about traditional weddings that I adore. (Speaking of modern wedding photography, you HAVE to see this adventure engagement that I photographed near Birmingham, Alabama!)

Levi is head over heels in love with Alex and Alex’s million dollar smile was a dead giveaway that she felt the same. As soon as these two left the ceremony after the first kiss, they literally leaped out of the doors and jumped with joy down the street to have an intimate moment together. I wish my wedding day reaction was half of theirs! I was so nervous on our wedding day I barely cracked a smile! You can tell their love for each other is pure and I wish them the best in their lives together!

Levi and Alex’s wedding day was so peaceful and relaxed. Even when someone asked the groom a minuscule detail about the boutonnieres (hint: next time you’re at a wedding, leave the bride and groom alone before the ceremony!) he was as calm as could be. Although the ceremony was traditional, the reception was so laid-back and fun. I loved seeing every one jump up and dance and even shed a tear or two watching some of my friends share sweet moments with their spouses.

They used bird seed for their send off! I told you they were classic and original. This couple was a joy and their wedding day was a reflection of their personalities. It was a joy being able to capture that.
